Putter Grips: Tape or No Tape?
sp*rtyon8 said: How many of you use tape on your putter grips? I picked up a Circa '62 for 100 bucks and am doing a resto. I bought a new grip but am debating using tape. I use tape on my irons but their are so many people that don't I was curious to see how many use tape on their putters.

L*uie_T07 said: anything that I've either regripped myself or that I have had regripped has been with tape. But I would also agree that a putting stroke is far less aggresive than a full swing, so tape shouldn't be needed. One would think anyway?!
sp*rtyon8 said: Ehhh...I might as well throw a stick of tape on it. Scotty did, so it must be right?!? :) I was just curious.
L*uie_T07 said: one thing you know for sure though, without tape if you wanted to say keep the grip but not the putter. no tape could make it easier to remove?? just a thought!

W*-Golfer said: I use the air method for my grips & don't have tape on any of them. Have been swinging my Burner driver all summer long & the grip hasn't moved 1mm. They go on so damn hard I don't see any way swinging it is going to cause a club to come flying out.

sp*rtyon8 said: I decided to throw 1 layer of tape on. The dancing Cameron grip is really tight fitting. I shouldn't have used tape, I think it made it harder!
L*uie_T07 said: better to be sure and use the tape than to not and have that doubt way back in your mind. I find that using excessive amounts of varsol or whatever solvent you use makes the process a lot easier.
S*nset Beach Golf said: The double sided tape is for one thing only, to make slick to slide the grip on. With air you can put any grip directly on the shaft and they will not turn.
